Standard length 1/2" parallel and hexagon nipple pipe fittings are typically too short for use in weldless fitting applications for home brew vessels. They will often leave none, or very little thread to attach a ball valve or other fittings inside a brewing vessel. This is especially true when converting thicker walled containers
These 2" long fittings overcome this problem and are ideal for use in boliers and mashtuns
Note, some of the big UK pipe fitting suppliers do not state the length of the nipples they sell, and we have found that they will now typically supply the shorter 25mm long parallel nipples.
