The 230V Chugger Stainless Steel center inlet Pump is a homebrew beer pump which is typically used to transfer hot and/or cold liquids between brewing vessels.
Please note the pumps do not come with plugs fitted. Wires are US colours: Live = Black (UK Brown), Neutral = White (UK Blue), Earth = Green (UK Green and Yellow Stripe)
BSP Fitting will fit the NPT Tapered threads on the inlet and outlet. Use a "3/4" to 1/2" BSP Reducing Socket" if wanting to reduce the 3/4" centre inlet down to 1/2" BSP.
Chugger pumps are made specificly by brewers for brewers. Comparable to the popular March pumps in virtually every way except Chugger pumps feature a 25% more powerful motor (1/20HP instead of 1/25hp) and of course Stainless steel heads. Another benefit is that the Chugger heads are interchangable with existing March brand pump motors.
The pump is hugely popular and widely adopted in the US and now available here as a European voltage version with CE certification. More information and full manual available here on the Chugger website
Centrifugal magnetic drive pumps are not self priming. DO NOT RUN DRY, the pump head must be full of liquid before switching on the pump.
Generlal Specification
Directional arrows on the pump head show fluid direction through the pump. The four screws on the pump head may be removed and the pump head can be rotated as required to fit your piping system. Please see "How to Change a Chugger Pump Orientation Video". for instructions.
Replacement "Chugger Pump Inline Stainless Steel Pump Head (SSPH-IN)" available which can also be used to replace March pump heads (Please get in touch for details)
The motor should be oiled yearly with 4-5 drops SAE20 weight non-detergent oil, do not over oil.
Follow all local electrical safety codes and always disconnect power before performing work on or near the pump motor.
Limited Warranty
CHUGGER PUMP® is warranted only against defects in workmanship for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase. DO NOT RUN THE PUMP DRY, it will not be covered under warranty. A SQUEALING SOUND IS A WARNING YOU ARE RUNNING THE PUMP WITH NO FLUID. POWER OFF IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT PLUMB INLET TUBING OR CONNECTIONS WITH LESS THAN 1/2" FULL PORT FITTINGS. THIS WILL RESULT IN CAVITIATION AND PROBLEMS WITH YOUR PUMP
